Ride Malfunction

We just returned from Canobie Lake Park and had the most frightening experience. My daughter, son-in-law, sister-in-law, and 3 grandaughters (ages 2, 4 & 4) were riding the kiddie Dragon Coaster when the ride jumped the rail just as the front car was beginning it's ascent for the second pass! The ride stopped and didn't look like it was in danger of falling or anything and they were able to unload the passengers from the back cars. This included all of my family except for my 4-year old grandaughter and adult sister-in-law who were in the front car and stuck about 8-10 feet up. There were also 2 other cars that they couldn't unload - one had 2 little kids and the other had 2 teenagers. And to complicate things it started pouring as they were stuck there.
