It's a Mad House...A Mad House!

Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark Resort Columbus, Ohio (The Short Story) PLUSES Indoor Waterpark Nice rustic/wild west décor Holiday Inn Electronic family locator wrist bands Helpful staff – some are and some aren't Early and late use of waterpark when not checked into room NEGATIVES Very Crowded Slow Elevators for 12 floors Chaotic – No set lines at front desk or in waterpark (needs line ropes) Kids do NOT eat free if book room with discount Slides are too fast and dangerous Slow restaurant service Poor pool rules Delayed room check-in (The Long Story) EXPERIENCE I accidentally found out about Fort Rapids Indoor Waterpark Resort when passing it on a business trip, while driving through Columbus, Ohio. It was easy to spot, because it is right by the freeway (I-70) with all of these waterslide pipes sticking out the sides of the building. I had never heard of it, so I checked it out on-line later. Since I was planning to be in the area with my family a few weeks later, I thought I would see what the cost would be. I knew that most of the indoor waterpark resorts in the Sandusky, Ohio area were about $200-300 per night, including waterpark entry. I was able to find a room at the Fort Rapids resort for $125 per night with AAA discount. That's about half the price of the other resorts, so I booked it. Upon arriving at Fort Rapids, in the mid afternoon, I found that the hotel entrance and parking was congested with cars and people trying to unload their cars and find parking spaces. They even had a policeman at the front entrance. Thank God we found a parking spot soon after arriving. Fun waterpark...with a few issues

We have been to several indoor and outdoor waterparks. We had a lot of fun at this one. Here is the good and the bad: Good: --Nice theming --LIfeguards generally friendly --Clean --Not crowded...We were there from Thursday night to noon on Saturday.
