Passionate about wine and the Sonoma Valley, Jim Bundschu doesn't take himself seriously. At a wine auction a few years ago, he dressed as Batman, and his winery's humorous posters are classic. He even hijacked the Napa Valley Wine Train and-gasp!-handed out samples of Sonoma Valley wine. Behind all this frivolity is great wine and rich history. Since 1858, six generations have tended the winery's home vineyard, Rhinefarm-but wine wasn't bottled from Prohibition until Jim restored the original stone winery in the early 1970s. Located down a winding road, it's worth the trek. Take time to tour the winery's 10,000-square-foot cave.

Yes there is this little pond where you can sit outside the tasting room on a large patio and take in the sites and sounds of their attractive winery property. more on CaliforniaWineryAdvisor.com
