With a strong eye towards education, this medium-sized aquarium in San Pedro packs a lot of punch. Exhibits feature all manner of sea-life including a touch tank. Admission is free though donations are suggested.

Unlike many other aquariums that seem to focus on flashy display or entertainment value, the Cabrillo focuses on education, providing a unique experience of marine life. more on Yahoo! Local

It is a favorite of my 1 1/2 year-old as most exhibits are eye level for her, and the museum itself isn't an overwhelming amount of space for her to absorb. more on GoCityKids
