Admission : ADMISSION IS FREE -- The National Zoo is open every day of the year except December 25.
Collections: About 2,800 animals and 435 different species currently comprise the animal collection at the National Zoo. About one-fifth of the species are endangered or threatened. Most of the species are on exhibit.
